National Irish Safety Organisation

The National Irish Safety Organisation (NISO) is dedicated to creating conditions where Irish workplaces are among the safest and healthiest in Europe. Operating since 1963, NISO provides leading information, advisory, and training services to promote a culture of excellence in workplace health and safety.

Through its membership-based structure, the National Irish Safety Organisation helps members improve health and safety at work, build relationships with other stakeholders, and contribute expertise to occupational health and safety in Ireland. With teams of dedicated volunteers organizing activities across eight regions, NISO is self-funded through membership, events, and training courses, ensuring its independence.

The National Irish Safety Organisation collaborates with key stakeholders such as the Health and Safety Authority (HSA), the Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU), and IBEC. NISO organizes various health and safety events, including All Ireland events with the Northern Ireland Safety Group (NISG).
