International Medical Informatics Association

The International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA) is dedicated to advancing biomedical and health informatics science through global collaboration and knowledge exchange. Established in 1989 under Swiss law, IMIA fosters international initiatives to improve health for all. With a rich history dating back to its origins within the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP), the International Medical Informatics Association has evolved into an independent organization with close ties to the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Federation of Health Information Management (IFHIMA). IMIA also maintains a cooperative relationship with ISO.

Headquartered in Geneva, CH, the International Medical Informatics Association brings together individuals from around the world to promote mutual learning and the exchange of skills and ideas in health informatics.
