Operating as a not-for-profit cooperative, East Kentucky Power Cooperative focuses on delivering dependable energy at affordable rates to its 16 electric cooperative members. East Kentucky Power Cooperative utilizes a diverse portfolio of energy sources, including traditional coal and natural gas power plants, a 60-acre solar-energy farm, and innovative facilities powered by methane from landfills. This variety not only ensures a stable energy supply but also reflects a commitment to exploring and implementing sustainable energy solutions. The energy generated is efficiently transmitted through over 2,800 miles of high-voltage transmission facilities, all owned and maintained by East Kentucky Power Cooperative, ensuring seamless delivery to the communities it serves.
