Located at 7 Leoforos Kifisias, 2nd Floor, Athens, Attiki 115 23, GR, GR-IX was established in 2009, succeeding the Athens Internet Exchange (AIX), which had been operational since 2000. GR-IX is owned and managed by the National Infrastructures for Research and Technology (GRNET), ensuring neutrality as a trusted third-party entity.

Η GR-IX::The Greek Internet Exchange είναι αφιερωμένη στη βελτίωση της συνδεσιμότητας, της ποιότητας και της ταχύτητας του Διαδικτύου στην Ελλάδα, ελαχιστοποιώντας παράλληλα το κόστος πρόσβασης. Ως ένας ουδέτερος και μη κερδοσκοπικός πάροχος υπηρεσιών Internet Exchange, η GR-IX διαδραματίζει ζωτικό ρόλο ως εθνική υποδομή, διασυνδέοντας βασικούς ενδιαφερόμενους φορείς του Διαδικτύου, συμπεριλαμβανομένων των παρόχων υπηρεσιών Διαδικτύου και των παρόχων περιεχομένου. Η GR-IX είναι προσηλωμένη στην προώθηση της ανάπτυξης του Διαδικτύου στην Ελλάδα.

Με έδρα στη διεύθυνση 7 Λεωφόρος Κηφισίας, 2ος Όροφος, Αθήνα, Αττική 115 23, GR, η GR-IX ιδρύθηκε το 2009, διαδεχόμενη την Athens Internet Exchange (AIX), η οποία λειτουργούσε από το 2000. Η GR-IX ανήκει και διοικείται από τις Εθνικές Υποδομές Έρευνας και Τεχνολογίας (GRNET), εξασφαλίζοντας την ουδετερότητα ως αξιόπιστη οντότητα τρίτων.
