The Global Center for the Development of the Whole Child (GC-DWC) at Notre Dame is dedicated to fostering positive outcomes for children and youth facing adversity through evidence-based strategies and impactful action. GC-DWC operates across 25 countries, implementing Whole Child Development (WCD) approaches to enhance academic achievement and cultivate safe, supportive, and equitable environments within families, schools, and communities.

GC-DWC collaborates with partners across research, practice, and policy to develop and test WCD approaches, translating evidence into impactful programs. The organization focuses on cultivating supportive relationships and environments vital to children and youth. By aligning knowledge, attitudes, practices, and policies within homes, schools, and communities, GC-DWC activates systems that foster resilience and justice.
