The R&A

The R&A is dedicated to growing and governing the sport of golf worldwide. Formed in 2004, The R&A supports activities undertaken for the benefit of the sport, acting on behalf of over 61 million golfers in 145 countries. The R&A governs the sport worldwide, outside of the United States and Mexico, and is organiser of The Open and AIG Women’s Open.

Located in St Andrews, Fife, The R&A operates from its primary address at The Links, St Andrews, Fife KY16 9JD, GB. The organization engages with 164 amateur and professional golf organizations to promote the sport and ensure its continued growth and integrity.
