Southern Districts Rugby Club

Southern Districts Rugby Club is at the heart of spectator sports in Southern Sydney, competing in Sydney's Premier Rugby competition, the Shute Shield. Founded in 1989 through the amalgamation of St George and Port Hacking Rugby Clubs, Southern Districts has remained at the forefront of rugby union in the Sutherland Shire & St George regions. Located at 223B Belgrave Esplanade, Sylvania Waters, NSW 2224, AU, Southern Districts fosters a strong sense of community and thrives on the hard work and dedication of volunteers, supporters, and players.

Known as Souths or ‘the Rebels,’ Southern Districts fields multiple men's teams and colts teams in the Shute Shield competition. Since 2018, the club has also included women’s 7s teams in the Sydney Rugby Union Women’s 7s competition. The Rebels playing strip proudly displays red for St George and sky blue for Port Hacking, complemented with black and white stripes, symbolizing the club’s rich heritage and unity.

Southern Districts Rugby Club maintains strong relationships with surrounding junior clubs, who have built highly successful junior development programs.
