FAICO - Innovation and Technology Center está reconocido oficialmente como Centro de Innovación y Tecnología (CIT) por el Registro de Agentes del Sistema Andaluz del Conocimiento. Declarado de interés público, FAICO actúa como Agente Tecnológico clave de Andalucía. Además, ostenta la distinción de ser un CAIT (Centro de Apoyo a la Innovación Tecnológica) certificado por el Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación (MICINN), el único centro en Andalucía que ostenta actualmente esta calificación.
Las actividades de FAICO se centran en la investigación, el desarrollo tecnológico y la innovación en el procesamiento de imágenes, la ciencia del color, la óptica, las tecnologías de la luz, el diseño, las tecnologías de la información, la edición y las comunicaciones.
