TRACE4EU Consortium is dedicated to designing and implementing cutting-edge solutions for trustworthy product and data traceability. As a project co-funded by the European Commission, TRACE4EU focuses on creating a comprehensive architecture that leverages existing EBSI (European Blockchain Services Infrastructure) services. This architecture forms the foundation for various traceability application scenarios, ensuring the integrity and reliability of data and product journeys. TRACE4EU is committed to advancing the standards and practices in traceability across various industries.

TRACE4EU's pilot programs are specifically tailored to ensure the trustworthy proof of origin for European products, including seafood, agri-food, halloumi, and batteries. Additionally, TRACE4EU is actively developing and testing solutions for the secure traceability of transactions and documents, enhancing the transparency and accountability of processes within decentralized ecosystems. This includes providing evidence against third parties and ensuring long-term preservation of critical data. The consortium's work addresses the tracking requirements of physical products, documents, and data, fostering trusted business-to-business interactions.

TRACE4EU’s processes encompass the traceability of physical products and materials throughout their lifecycle, from initial shipment and processing in factories to the arrival of finished goods to consumers. By ensuring the non-repudiation of digital transactions and secure data sharing across borders, TRACE4EU aims to fulfill the requirements for burden of proof and cybersecurity in decentralized ecosystems using EBSI.
