SH2IPDRIVE is a leading Dutch project consortium dedicated to advancing maritime hydrogen applications. Comprising a diverse group of 25 companies and knowledge institutions from across the maritime sector, SH2IPDRIVE is committed to accelerating the adoption of hydrogen as an alternative energy carrier for ships. With a substantial project fund of 34 million EUR, SH2IPDRIVE is undertaking extensive research and development across multiple avenues for hydrogen application, driving the move towards zero-emission shipping. The primary address is Rotterdam, NL, with additional locations in Delft, NL, and Amsterdam, NL.

SH2IPDRIVE is laying a strong foundation for a robust maritime hydrogen economy in the Netherlands, reinforcing the country's position as a global leader in hydrogen technology. The organization's objectives are fully aligned with the Dutch government’s Maritime Master Plan, which aims to strengthen the Netherlands' role as a world leader in sustainable shipbuilding and shipping. The project activities encompass the full scope of hydrogen research and development, organized into nine work packages, including Bunker and Storage Systems, Hydrogen Carriers, Fuel Cells, Data Collection and System Validation, System Integration, Modular Testing, Ship Design, and Safety.
