SCOOTT Trial's current work involves a multi-centre, three-arm RCT focused on comparing surgical and non-surgical management of base of thumb osteoarthritis (BTOA). This trial aims to determine the superiority of surgery (Trapeziectomy or Carpometacarpal Joint Replacement (CMCJR)) over enhanced non-surgical management, as well as the non-inferiority of CMCJR compared to trapeziectomy.
