RefreSCAR

RefreSCAR is dedicated to strengthening European research and innovation through targeted support to the Standing Committee on Agricultural Research (SCAR). As a cornerstone of Research and Innovation (R&I) cooperation in Europe, RefreSCAR enhances the strategic functioning and capacities of SCAR's Working Groups, facilitating improved coordination of national and European R&I programs.

RefreSCAR provides robust scientific support through portfolio analysis of projects and expert studies. By increasing participation among countries and boosting the visibility of SCAR, RefreSCAR connects researchers, policymakers, farmers, and other practitioners to ensure research effectively contributes to policy and practice. The initiative supports foresight activities to assess potential future developments in the food, agriculture, fisheries, forestry, and bioeconomy sectors.

The outcome of RefreSCAR's efforts will be more impactful SCAR Working Groups that are better resourced and empowered to deliver strategic advice. RefreSCAR’s vision is a strengthened SCAR within the European Research Area.
