A research and innovation project building decolonial, faith-sensitive domestic violence responses cross-culturally
Project dldl/ድልድል is a leading research and innovation organization dedicated to developing decolonial and religio-culturally sensitive solutions for domestic violence alleviation. With a focus on East Africa and the UK, Project dldl/ድልድል aims to bridge different disciplines, sectors, and stakeholders to achieve a more reflexive, decolonial, and integrated approach to addressing domestic violence within faith communities. The primary office is located in Addis Ababa, ET, with an additional location in London, GB.
By engaging substantively with the religio-cultural belief systems of both victims/survivors and perpetrators, Project dldl/ድልድል seeks to understand how these belief systems interface with gender, material, and psychological parameters to either facilitate or deter domestic violence. Working closely with indigenous collaborators and both rural and urban communities, the project is committed to generating new research and intervention approaches. This innovative work aims to reverse the historical knowledge transfer from the 'West' to the 'rest' by channeling evidence and good practices from countries such as Ethiopia into the UK domestic violence sector, enhancing the UK's capacity to cater better to the needs of ethnically diverse, minority, and migrant communities in religio-culturally appropriate ways.
Through its collaborative and research-driven initiatives, Project dldl/ድልድል is making significant strides in fostering sustainable and culturally relevant solutions for domestic violence. We invite the management of Project dldl/ድልድል to create a customized and exclusive company showcase and product listing on our platform, further amplifying their impact and reach.
