MedEWSa project is dedicated to advancing research services and pioneering innovative solutions in the realm of multi-hazard early warning systems. As a Horizon Europe project, MedEWSa is committed to creating interoperable systems that span the European-Mediterranean-African region, enhancing preparedness and response to natural hazards. The project addresses the increasing challenges posed by extreme weather events and climate change, ensuring timely, precise, and actionable impact and finance forecasting.

MedEWSa is developing a sophisticated, comprehensive, and innovative pan-European–Mediterranean–African solution that includes a range of complementary services. By building on existing tools, MedEWSa aims to deliver a fully integrated impact-based multi-hazard EWS. This initiative exemplifies the UN Secretary General’s call to protect everyone from extreme weather and climate-related hazards through effective early warning systems.

With a focus on knowledge transfer and practical application, MedEWSa operates through carefully selected pilot sites that have a history of being impacted by natural hazards and extreme events. These sites facilitate bi-directional learning and the implementation of strategies to mitigate the effects of wildfires, floods, heatwaves, and other climate-related challenges.
