LIG - Grenoble Informatics Laboratory

LIG - Grenoble Informatics Laboratory stands as a prominent research institution, dedicated to advancing the frontiers of computer science. As one of the largest laboratories in France, LIG operates as a Joint Research Center (UMR) in collaboration with esteemed institutions including CNRS, Grenoble Institute of Technology (Grenoble INP), Inria Grenoble Rhône-Alpes, and Grenoble Alps University.

With a substantial team of 500 members comprising faculty, researchers, PhD students, and technical staff, LIG - Grenoble Informatics Laboratory is committed to the development of fundamental computer science principles. Its mission encompasses models, languages, methodologies, and algorithms, tailored to address significant conceptual, technological, and societal challenges.

LIG - Grenoble Informatics Laboratory's research is organized into five key areas: Data and Knowledge Processing at Large Scale, Distributed Systems, Parallel Computing, and Networks, Formal Methods, Models, and Languages, Interactive and Cognitive Systems, and Software and Information System Engineering. This focus enables LIG to explore both the fundamentals of computer science and new experimental developments.
