IANOS H2020 project

IANOS H2020 project is dedicated to providing integrated solutions for the decarbonization and smartification of EU islands. With over 2,700 islands across Europe, each facing unique energy-related challenges, IANOS is committed to facilitating the transition from fossil fuels to cleaner energy sources. The project focuses on addressing the specific conditions, regulations, and infrastructure of each island to create tailored solutions.

IANOS H2020 project has selected the islands of Ameland (Netherlands) and Terceira (Portugal) as "Pilot Islands," recognizing their representation of common EU challenges. Following the initial phase, IANOS will implement these solutions on three "fellow Islands"—Lampedusa (Italy), Bora Bora (French Polynesia), and Nisyros (Greece)—to validate the replicability of the test islands' results. This strategic approach ensures that the solutions developed are scalable and adaptable to various island environments.
