As a collaborative initiative stemming from the Horizon 2020 science diplomacy projects S4D4C, InsSciDE, and EL-CSID, the Alliance is built to sustain and expand the networks, impact, and momentum that these projects have cultivated. The EU Science Diplomacy Alliance aims to further develop, maintain, and organize joint research projects, provide expert policy advice, and conduct capacity building and training activities focused on science diplomacy.

Grounded in the results and robust networks developed by its predecessor projects, the EU Science Diplomacy Alliance is committed to sustaining dialogue on EU science diplomacy and cultivating new opportunities to advance both the theory and practice of science diplomacy across Europe. It facilitates crucial interactions and dialogue, provides training, enhances institutional capacity building, and coordinates grant-seeking or the utilization of joint funding opportunities whenever available.
