Base4NFDI - Basic Services for the NFDI is dedicated to enhancing research data management and accessibility across all disciplines. By creating NFDI-wide basic services, Base4NFDI ensures improved findability, interoperability, and reusability of critical research data. The organization actively fosters collaboration within the scientific community, inviting institutions to participate in the development of common technical services.

Through the adaptation and extension of existing services, Base4NFDI supports the systematic opening and networking of the German science system. Development teams receive funding from the German Research Foundation (DFG), along with implementation and training support from Base4NFDI, following a rigorous proposal review. The resulting NFDI basic services are then offered permanently to the scientific community, progressing through stages of initialization, integration, and ramping-up.
