ALLEA represents more than 50 academies from over 40 EU and non-EU countries. Since its foundation in 1994, ALLEA has been a strong voice for its members on the European and international stages, facilitating scientific collaboration across borders and disciplines.

ALLEA leverages the expertise of distinguished scientists from all fields of scholarly inquiry to improve research conditions and provide independent, interdisciplinary science advice. The organization strengthens the role of science in society by channeling the collective knowledge of European academies for the benefit of the research community, decision-makers, and the public. ALLEA's headquarters are located in Berlin, DE, with an additional office in Brussels, BE.
