ACACIA aims to enhance the resilience of at-risk communities in Africa to impacts from floods and tropical cyclones
ACACIA Horizon Europe project is dedicated to enhancing the resilience of at-risk communities in Sub-Saharan Africa to climate impacts. With a focus on floods in the Greater Horn of Africa, as well as floods and tropical cyclones in Madagascar, ACACIA aims to improve the development, dissemination, and application of climate services. This initiative ensures that short-term and long-term decisions effectively diminish climate risk.
ACACIA's comprehensive strategy is designed to mitigate critical obstacles to climate adaptation. These obstacles include temporal and spatial mismatches, relevance of climate services, capacity to implement coping strategies, access to climate services, governance barriers, the impact of climate change, and the need for evidence on the socioeconomic impacts of climate services. By addressing these challenges, ACACIA is paving the way for more sustainable and resilient communities.
With a strong representation from Africa, ACACIA comprises 14 partners, uniting actors from all parts of the climate services ecosystem. This broad alliance ensures that services and protocols are developed locally, thereby sustaining outcomes beyond the lifetime of the ACACIA Horizon Europe project. We invite the management of ACACIA to create a customized and exclusive company showcase and product listing on our platform, highlighting their valuable contributions to climate resilience.
