PREVENT EU Project is an innovative initiative dedicated to tackling the challenges associated with managing childhood obesity. Supported and co-funded by the European Commission through the Horizon Europe Cancer Mission (HECM) program, PREVENT EU Project is founded on epidemiological studies that highlight a clear connection between obesity and increased risks of various cancer types. The project aims to address obesity in children and adolescents through creating communities of practice, analyzing obesity determinants and intervention policies, and identifying cancer types associated with obesity.
PREVENT EU Project's approach involves establishing three Living Labs (LL) with the participation of around 6,000 individuals, engaging all relevant stakeholders to collaboratively design effective strategies for addressing childhood and adolescent obesity and its intricate link to cancer. Greece, Spain, and Sweden have been chosen as pilot countries for these Living Labs, serving as the groundwork for innovative solutions. Additionally, PREVENT EU Project aims to reach out to over 10,000 schools and 3 million students aged 9-16 through extensive upscaling activities.
By implementing interventions such as age-appropriate classroom education on healthy lifestyles, promoting healthier snacks and meals in school canteens, supporting physical activities both at school and community levels, and utilizing both prevailing and innovative techniques, the PREVENT EU Project seeks to make a lasting impact. Engaging stakeholders, establishing digital infrastructure, and implementing dynamic approaches for behavioral change are also key focuses. We invite the management team at PREVENT EU Project to create a customized and exclusive company showcase and product listing on our platform to further amplify their important work.
