Food & Health Equity Coalition of Essex County

The Food & Health Equity Coalition of Essex County is dedicated to enhancing food access, security, and sovereignty through collaborative initiatives and impactful community work. Founded in February 2024, the coalition has quickly grown to include over 190 members representing more than 90 organizations, showcasing a strong, cross-sector collaboration.

Driven by a vision to ensure that communities throughout Essex County have the necessary access to acquire the food and nutrition they need, the Food & Health Equity Coalition of Essex County focuses on creating sustainable food systems. These systems are designed to be informed and led by the very communities they serve, ensuring that local needs and preferences are prioritized. Through quarterly collective meetings and monthly working group sessions focusing on older adults, maternal child health, and child nutrition, the coalition effectively addresses diverse community requirements.
