SMILfonden

SMILfonden is dedicated to enhancing the lives of children facing severe and chronic illnesses by fostering strong, supportive communities and improving their overall quality of life. Through various social activities both within and outside hospital settings, SMILfonden provides a crucial respite from the challenges of illness. These activities include social engagements at hospitals, summer camps, networking trips, and counseling services.

SMILfonden also operates creative workshops called SMILET at Rigshospitalet and Aarhus Universitetshospital, offering a welcoming space for all children and adolescents under 18 connected to these hospitals. This includes both inpatients and outpatients, as well as siblings and children of hospitalized parents. SMILfonden’s work is made possible through contributions from businesses, foundations, public funds, and private donors. SMILfonden is located at Egebækvej 98, Bygning M, Nærum, Capital Region 2850, DK.

SMILfonden collaborates closely with staff and management at Danish pediatric departments to ensure that children with serious and chronic conditions, who most need a break from their illness, can access SMILfonden’s activities. SMILfonden aims to create a positive impact on the lives of these children and their families.
