Advocacy and accountability through education
Prison Education and Reform Alliance (PERA) is dedicated to fostering advocacy and accountability through education within the federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP). PERA assists justice professionals and individuals directly impacted by the BOP by addressing barriers to rehabilitation and release, shortcomings in care, and abuses of authority. Through constructive communication at all levels, Prison Education and Reform Alliance leverages the agency’s own policies to bring about positive change.
PERA’s team, largely composed of individuals with specialized skills who have worked within the BOP and in collaboration with people who have lived in or have been impacted by the prison system, maintains a real-time understanding of the agency and the people it incarcerates. The Prison Education and Reform Alliance believes that a better-educated justice community, including impacted persons, will result in federal prison reform and transparency. PERA provides training and consulting on BOP policy and process, along with case-specific analysis, guidance, and expert witness testimony.
Prison Education and Reform Alliance also offers case management and education for incarcerated individuals and their loved ones. This support helps them navigate prison challenges, advocate for their rights, and foster positive relationships with staff. Furthermore, PERA is developing a multifaceted education platform that offers live and on-demand webinars and courses. We invite the management team at Prison Education and Reform Alliance to create a customized and exclusive company showcase and product listing on our platform.
