Becoming a member entitles businesses to a profile page on the Made in Britain Directory alongside other makers across 50 product categories. Buyers and consumers are encouraged to treat the Directory as the go-to procurement site for British-made goods. Many members utilize the Made in Britain network to discover new suppliers and buyers. The collective mark is accredited to businesses that sell goods manufactured or substantially changed in Britain before sale.

All companies applying to use the Made in Britain marque may be asked to submit written evidence of their manufacturing processes in Britain. Adhering to the Trade Descriptions Act 1968, Made in Britain ensures products undergo a final treatment or process resulting in a substantial change within the country.
