Levende Hav (Living Ocean)

Levende Hav (Living Ocean) is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the ocean through comprehensive cleanups, education programs, and proactive community action. As a national campaign spearheaded by Norges Miljøvernforbund (NMF), an independent Norwegian NGO established in 1993, Levende Hav is deeply committed to environmental protection and advocating for climate justice through collaborative efforts.

Since its inception in 2016, Levende Hav has made a significant impact along the Norwegian coastline, successfully collecting over 300 tons of marine waste, educating more than 25,000 students through immersive outdoor learning experiences, and engaging over 3,000 volunteers, including a dedicated team of 150 long-term volunteers. Through strategic partnerships with over 1,000 schools and more than 20 organizations nationwide, Levende Hav continues to expand its reach and amplify its positive influence.
