Heifer International Ethiopia

Heifer International Ethiopia is dedicated to fostering sustainable development and improving the livelihoods of communities across Ethiopia. Since its establishment in 2019, Heifer International Ethiopia has been instrumental in creating viable commercial production systems for small-scale pastoralists and agro-pastoralists through initiatives like the Lowlands Livelihoods Resilience Project (LLRP).

Heifer International Ethiopia focuses on bridging the living income gap through innovative practices and human capacity building. Operating extensively across Oromia, Sidama, Central Ethiopia, Amhara, Benishangul-Gumuz, Afar, Somali, Gambella, South-West, and Southern regions, the organization supports smallholder farmers, with a specific emphasis on empowering women and youth. In 2022, Heifer Ethiopia collaborated with over 60,000 farming households, driving significant advancements in poultry, dairy, small ruminants, horticulture, and beekeeping sectors.
