Hands Across the Sea

Hands Across the Sea is a leading international non-governmental organization dedicated to significantly enhancing literacy levels among children in the Eastern Caribbean. Since its inception, Hands Across the Sea has been instrumental in reaching over 167,000 children across Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The organization has facilitated the distribution of over half a million new books and implemented impactful mentorship programs and literacy initiatives.

Hands Across the Sea has successfully established and revitalized more than 927 school libraries and 50 community libraries, underscoring its commitment to the long-term sustainability of these vital resources. The organization focuses on fostering a deep-seated love for reading within communities and families.
