Operating since 1986, FHIDO's mission is to support children, youth, women, and other beneficiaries, enabling them to realize their full potential and transform their lives. The organization is actively involved in promoting quality education, fostering economic resilience for deprived and marginalized communities, and providing humanitarian aid, including emergency interventions for internally displaced persons.

Located at Around st. Johne church, Addis Ababa, Arada sub city, 02 District House number 1233, Addis Ababa, 14 25887, ET, FHIDO also focuses on gender and child protection, health promotion—particularly in sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and HIV/AIDS—and ensuring access to water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) for vulnerable populations. FHIDO’s comprehensive approach addresses the needs of children, at-risk youth, orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs), child- and female-headed households, trafficked children, street children, children with disabilities (CwDs), and women.
