The Foundation for Civil Society (FCS) is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to fostering development through strategic partnerships. Located at Primary: Madai Crescent 7 Ada Estate P.O. Box 7192 Dar es Salaam Tanzania, the Foundation is committed to enhancing the effectiveness of civil society organizations (CSOs) by providing grants and capacity-building services. FCS envisions a Tanzania where empowered, resilient, and responsible citizens achieve social and economic justice, leading to an improved quality of life.

The Foundation for Civil Society operates with a mission to contribute to sustainable and inclusive development in Tanzania. By strengthening the capabilities of CSOs, community groups, and other development actors, FCS ensures citizens are actively engaged in development processes. The core values of FCS—gender equity & inclusion, humility, adaptability and agility, integrity and accountability, and learning and excellence—guide all its initiatives and partnerships.
