Der Verband hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt, die Interoperabilität zwischen verschiedenen PCF-Standards und Berichtssystemen zu erreichen sowie einen digitalen Ansatz zu entwickeln, um Anbieter von Kohlenstoffsenken mit Herstellern zu verbinden.
Die Arbeit bei ESTAINIUM Association ist zunächst in drei Arbeitsgruppen gegliedert: Technologie und Infrastruktur, Standards und Normen sowie Kohlenstoffabscheidung, -nutzung, -speicherung und -kompensation.
