The Entrepreneurship Development Foundation for Women and Youth (EDF) is dedicated to fostering social and economic empowerment. With a focus on developing local communities, EDF operates as an Iranian non-profit, non-governmental organization holding special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Founded in 2005, EDF prioritizes underserved regions of Iran, promoting creative thinking and a culture of entrepreneurship among women, youth, and community-based organizations.

Operating on three core pillars—conceptualization, modeling, and institutionalization—the Entrepreneurship Development Foundation for Women and Youth achieves its mission through five primary projects. These initiatives include local community development, youth empowerment, entrepreneurship labs in schools, the Karestan Documentary Film Series showcasing Iranian entrepreneurs, and comprehensive research.
