Educating the Children is dedicated to bringing quality education and training to girls and young women in East Africa. Founded in 2014, Educating the Children through its UK charity arm, built Sekenani Girls High School (SGHS) to serve as the first secondary school in the Masai Mara.
Prior to Educating the Children's efforts, the Mara region had 47 primary schools but lacked secondary education opportunities. Recognizing that formal employment in Kenya requires a secondary school "leaving certificate," Educating the Children is committed to ensuring children have access to formal employment and the power to shape their own futures.
