Comprising a core group of talented individuals, many of whom are also members of the Detroit Symphony and Michigan Opera Theatre orchestras, Detroit Chamber Winds & Strings is committed to artistic excellence and enriching the cultural landscape. Detroit Chamber Winds & Strings is a champion of administrative collaboration in pursuit of artistic excellence, Detroit Chamber Winds & Strings has pioneered an alternative business model for small to mid-size non-profit organizations.

Since 1982, Detroit Chamber Winds & Strings has fostered a successful management structure in collaboration with esteemed organizations such as the Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival and the Eisenhower Dance Ensemble. These collaborations allow each organization to maintain separate missions, boards of directors, financial reporting, and 501(c)(3) status while sharing staff, equipment, and office space.
