Since its establishment in January 1998, APBioNET has been committed to advancing bioinformatics through the development of network infrastructure, facilitating the exchange of data and information, and creating comprehensive training programs, workshops, and symposia. APBioNET has formed a valuable partnership with the Asia-Pacific Advanced Network project (APAN) to enhance the bioinformatics network infrastructure. Through this partnership, APBioNET connects key institutions like DDBJ, GenomeNet, HGC, NCC, ANGIS, and MAFFIN, enabling seamless data exchange and information sharing. APBioNET sponsors and co-organizes various workshops and conferences, including the International Conference on Bioinformatics (InCOB’02) in Thailand.
