American Association of Physicists in Medicine

The American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) is dedicated to advancing medicine through excellence in the science, education, and professional practice of medical physics. As a broad-based scientific and professional discipline, AAPM encompasses physical principles with applications in biology and medicine. With over 9500 members across 94 countries, the American Association of Physicists in Medicine supports the Medical Physics community by focusing on advancing patient care through education, improving the safety and efficacy of radiation oncology and medical imaging procedures through research, and maintaining high professional standards. AAPM actively promotes the dissemination of knowledge and best practices in the field.

The American Association of Physicists in Medicine publishes two esteemed scholarly journals, Medical Physics and the Journal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics (JACMP), in addition to the AAPM Report Series. AAPM hosts three annual scientific meetings, including a spring clinical meeting, a main summer annual meeting, and a fall scientific meeting in collaboration with the Radiological Society of North America.
