Founded in early 2017, the Society emerged from discussions at the World Labour Law Congress in September 2015, aiming to amplify the African perspective in international labour law dialogues.
With support from the International Labour Organisation, leading law firms such as ENSafrica and Bowman Gilfillan, and organizations like Juta Law and Lex Africa, the African Labour Law Society has rapidly grown to include 180 members from 21 African countries. The Society is affiliated with the ISLSSL in Geneva, further solidifying its role as a pivotal voice for African Labour scholars.
