African Scholars Fund

The African Scholars Fund is dedicated to supporting and mentoring deserving young high school learners from disadvantaged homes attending under-resourced schools. With a rich history spanning over half a century, the African Scholars Fund has contributed significantly to the mentorship and guidance of over 65,000 learners in rural and township schools across South Africa, empowering them to complete their high school education.

The African Scholars Fund addresses the challenges faced by rural and township learners by providing motivation, mentorship, and modest financial assistance. This support enables these young learners from severely disadvantaged homes and marginalized communities to focus on their education and strive for academic success. The fund offers resources such as annual awards for school fees, uniforms, stationery, subject choice booklets, career guidance workbooks, NSFAS application guides, and computer literacy programs.
