Lutheran World Federation Iraq

Lutheran World Federation Iraq is dedicated to supporting internally displaced people, host communities, Syrian refugees, and returnees. Since its intervention in Iraq in 2014, LWF has been pivotal in implementing projects in collaboration with local partners, predominantly in the Kurdish region, specifically the Dohuk governorate and Nineveh Plains.

The core focus of Lutheran World Federation Iraq revolves around building resilience through comprehensive protection measures, psychosocial supportive services, and the creation of sustainable livelihood opportunities. Additionally, they are deeply involved in essential water sanitation projects, ensuring communities have access to clean and safe water resources.

As a global communion of Christian churches in the Lutheran tradition, the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) was founded in 1947.
