We're building an equitable New York in which all people have access to healthy, affordable homes.
Habitat for Humanity New York City and Westchester County is dedicated to transforming lives and communities by building and preserving affordable homes for families in need. By uniting all New Yorkers around the cause of affordable housing, Habitat NYC and Westchester creates, preserves, and advocates for healthy, affordable homes and the generational equity-building opportunities that homeownership provides.
With the support of thousands of volunteers each year, Habitat for Humanity New York City and Westchester County is building a more equitable New York. The organization addresses centuries of unjust, racist housing laws and financing mechanisms that have historically prevented communities of color from accessing the homeownership market. Through non-profit development, community land trusts, limited-equity co-ops, and rental-to-ownership conversions, Habitat NYC and Westchester is creating an infrastructure for equity with benefits that span generations, increasing the wealth, health, and education of communities.
