ASME-VIT is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to setting the standard in multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences. Established in 2010, ASME-VIT constantly strives to lead and spread the legacy of ASME India and ASME International through education, training, professional development, research, conferences, publications, and government relations.

Located in Vellore, Tamil Nadu 632014, IN, ASME-VIT is recognized as one of the best Student Chapters of the School of Mechanical Engineering (SMEC) in VIT University. ASME-VIT enhances professional development and outreach through various initiatives, including the annual symposium 'MECHNOVATE,' which has seen external participation of over 1500 students since 2013. ASME-VIT has two technical teams: Team Veloce, focusing on Robotics and RC planes, and Team Anant, the official Human Powered Vehicle Team of VIT University, celebrated for its success in various competitions.

ASME-VIT's commitment to excellence has been recognized with the Outstanding Student Section (Greater than 3 years) award in Asia-Pacific 2016.
