Stichting Kasteel Amerongen

Stichting Kasteel Amerongen is dedicated to the preservation and accessibility of historical landmarks. Since 1982, Stichting Kasteel Amerongen (SKA) has been responsible for maintaining and opening the castle to the public, offering a unique glimpse into the past. Located at Drostestraat 20, Amerongen, Utrecht 3958, NL, the castle provides an enriching experience for visitors of all ages.

Kasteel Amerongen, rebuilt between 1674 and 1680, stands on the foundations of a 13th-century residential tower that was destroyed by the French in 1673. The castle is furnished as it was in 1977, after 300 years of habitation by the same family. The historical interior offers a comprehensive view of the furnishings of a noble family from the early 20th century. The 10-hectare garden is an integral part of the historical ensemble, enhancing the visitor experience.
