Fully owned by Base Titanium, the Kwale Operation commenced production in late 2013 and is strategically located 10 kilometers inland from the Kenyan coast and 50 kilometers south of Mombasa, a principal port facility for East Africa.

The Kwale Operation features a high-grade ore body known for its valuable mineral assemblage, especially rich in rutile. Mining activities began on the Central Dune orebody and transitioned to the South Dune orebody in June 2019. Base Titanium's Kwale Operation significantly contributes to Kenya’s mining industry, accounting for approximately 65% of its mineral output value.
