The Australian Society of Exploration Geophysicists (ASEG) is dedicated to advancing the science of geophysics and fostering collaboration among geophysicists and earth scientists. Founded in 1970, the ASEG plays a pivotal role in promoting geophysics, specifically exploration geophysics, throughout Australia.

The ASEG encourages fellowship and cooperation between geophysicists while also fostering closer understanding and collaboration with other earth scientists. The society actively supports the design and teaching of geophysics courses and sponsors student sections. With primary offices in Perth, WA, AU, and additional locations in Sydney, NSW, AU, the Australian Society of Exploration Geophysicists is strategically positioned to serve its members nationwide.

The Australian Society of Exploration Geophysicists publishes the esteemed technical journal Exploration Geophysics, the bi-monthly magazine Preview, occasional Special Publications, and Monthly Newsletters. The ASEG also organizes a Geophysical Conference and Exhibition every 18 months, conducts continuing education courses, and supports research in exploration geophysics.
