Taking Back Ourselves

Taking Back Ourselves is dedicated to empowering women and non-binary survivors of sexual abuse, fostering wholeness, healing, and connection. Taking Back Ourselves is committed to serving survivors of various forms of sexual violence, including incest, rape, domestic violence, racially motivated sexual abuse, workplace assault, military sexual assault, religious and clergy abuse, academic and sports-related abuse, assaults in the performing arts, assaults against disabled individuals, war crimes including rape and trafficking, and trans survivors.

Taking Back Ourselves supports its mission by hosting in-person and virtual Events of Healing for survivors of all genders. They also offer virtual and in-person Weekends and Days of Recovery for women survivors in venues across the country. These events provide a safe, deep, and joyful multi-modal experience, creating a powerful community of survivors. Deep scholarships and free resources are available for applicants who lack the means to travel or participate.

Taking Back Ourselves believes that when survivors experience community and healing in a safe and embodied way, everyone—men, women, children, and the planet—benefits.
