Με έδρα τη Θεσσαλονίκη στην Ιατρική Σχολή του Α.Π.Θ., 54621, Ελλάδα, με μια πρόσθετη τοποθεσία στην οδό Μαιάνδρου 23, Αθήνα, 56224, ΗΠΑ, η εταιρεία είναι αφιερωμένη στην προώθηση της επιστημονικής, κοινωνικής και εκπαιδευτικής ενασχόλησης μεταξύ των φοιτητών ιατρικής.
Με περισσότερα από 2000 μέλη σε επτά παραρτήματα σε ιατρικές σχολές σε όλη την Ελλάδα, η Επιστημονική Εταιρεία Ελλήνων Φοιτητών Ιατρικής παρέχει ανεκτίμητες ευκαιρίες στους φοιτητές να συνεργαστούν με συναδέλφους, γιατρούς, ερευνητές και επιστήμονες, τόσο σε εθνικό όσο και σε διεθνές επίπεδο. Η εταιρεία συμμετέχει ενεργά στην έκδοση βιβλίων και περιοδικών, καθώς και στη δημιουργία ηλεκτρονικών υπηρεσιών πληροφοριών. Επιπλέον, η ΕΕΦΙΕ διοργανώνει επιστημονικές, ανθρωπιστικές και πολιτιστικές εκδηλώσεις και καλλιεργεί συνεργασίες με δημόσιους, ιδιωτικούς και μη κυβερνητικούς οργανισμούς.
Ένα από τα αξιοσημείωτα επιτεύγματα της εταιρείας είναι το ετήσιο Επιστημονικό Συνέδριο Ελλήνων Φοιτητών Ιατρικής, το οποίο πραγματοποιείται εδώ και πάνω από δύο δεκαετίες. Αυτή η εκδήλωση διευκολύνει την ανταλλαγή ιδεών και ενημερώσεων σχετικά με τις ιατρικές εξελίξεις μέσω στρογγυλών τραπεζιών, διαλέξεων, ελεύθερων ανακοινώσεων και αφισών. Επιπλέον, το Διεθνές Φόρουμ Ελλήνων Φοιτητών Ιατρικής και Νέων Ιατρών, που πραγματοποιείται σε συνδυασμό με το συνέδριο από το 2007, παρουσιάζει την πρόσφατη πρόοδο σε διάφορους ιατρικούς τομείς. Η Επιστημονική Εταιρεία Ελλήνων Φοιτητών Ιατρικής διαχειρίζεται επίσης το πρόγραμμα «Θερινή Ιατρική Προσγείωση», όπου οι φοιτητές ιατρικής υποστηρίζουν τους γιατρούς στα κέντρα υγείας των ελληνικών νησιών κατά τη διάρκεια του καλοκαιριού.
