Port of Baku

Port of Baku stands as a crucial hub in maritime transportation, offering state-of-the-art facilities designed and constructed to meet international standards. Strategically located at Alat, within the Greater Baku area, the Port of Baku serves as a pivotal gateway for Azerbaijan and its neighboring countries, capitalizing on its position at the crossroads of regional railroads and highways.

With 400 hectares of allocated land, the Port of Baku dedicates 100-115 hectares to the development of the International Logistics and Trade Zone, which includes a common user oil and gas supply base. The northern areas surrounding the port are reserved for future industrial, petrochemical, and manufacturing expansions. Its location benefits from natural protection against waves and longshore drifts, thanks to Gil Island, eliminating the need for a breakwater.

Currently undergoing construction in three phases, the Port of Baku is set to achieve a handling capacity of approximately 25 million tons of freight and up to 1 million TEU annually upon completion of all phases.
