Mothers Outreach Network is dedicated to transforming child welfare and governmental income laws, policies, and practices, shifting from punitive measures to empowering solutions. As a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) non-profit and non-partisan organization, Mothers Outreach Network has been deeply engaged in empowerment work for over a decade, supporting mothers in Washington, D.C., who are navigating the criminal legal system or foster care involvement, while also championing the economic stability of their families.

Committed to the principles of participatory American democracy, Mothers Outreach Network employs a range of effective tools to realize its mission. These include civic engagement initiatives, comprehensive know-your-rights training, voter outreach programs, in-depth research, and impactful advocacy efforts. Mothers Outreach Network is actively expanding its movement lawyering approach to incorporate brief advice legal clinics, designed to bolster both individual and collective efforts of mothers in driving systemic change at the local and national levels.
