Chancery Bar Association

The Chancery Bar Association is a well-established organization representing the interests of approximately 1,500 members. These members handle the full scope of Chancery legal work at all seniority levels throughout England and Wales. Recognized by the Bar Council as a Specialist Bar Association, the Chancery Bar Association plays a vital role in the legal community.

Chancery work, traditionally managed by the Chancery Division of the High Court of Justice, is now primarily handled by the Business and Property Courts (B&PCs), which operate in London and regional centers. These courts address high-profile, complex, and increasingly international disputes. Members of the Chancery Bar Association provide expert advocacy, mediation, and advisory services across company, financial, property, and business law.

As advocates, members are engaged in all courts in England and Wales, as well as internationally. Full membership is available to barristers whose practice primarily consists of Chancery work, with academic and overseas members also participating.
