EAGLE Network is dedicated to protecting elephants, apes, rhinos, and other threatened wildlife species in key African countries. By increasing the effectiveness of wildlife law enforcement, EAGLE Network aims to deter poachers and traffickers from engaging in illegal activities. Since 2003, EAGLE Network has been developing and refining a model for NGO-Government collaboration that has demonstrated its ability to bring about the effective enforcement of relevant laws.
The EAGLE Network model, first proven in Cameroon through the LAGA project, shifted the country from a decade of zero wildlife prosecutions to prosecuting one major trafficker per week. This achievement was consistently sustained for ten years, and this pioneering work has since been replicated in multiple countries under the EAGLE Network umbrella. These country projects address corruption and poor governance, which fuel the illegal wildlife trade. EAGLE Network leads the way in wildlife law enforcement across some of the most challenging African countries through an innovative not-for-profit social franchising approach.
The overarching objective of EAGLE Network is to develop civic activism and collaborate with governments and civil society to improve the application of national and international environmental legislation. Through investigations, arrests, prosecutions, and publicity, EAGLE aims to generate a strong deterrent against illegal trades in wildlife, timber, and related criminal activities, including corruption. EAGLE Network is always seeking to improve its impact, and we invite the company’s manager to create a customized and exclusive company showcase and product listing on our platform.
